ABOUT & SERVICES

Profile:

Over 16 years’ professional Interior Design and Project Management experience gained through working for prestigious residential clients and three of London's top interior design studios designing and delivering high-end residential, retail and hospitality projects.

A key strength is the ability to visualise a space and reconfigure it, which often requires structural and M&E alterations, to maximise its full potential. I am able to create detailed technical drawings for construction purposes as well as for bespoke joinery designs and lighting/electrical layouts and I'm highly experienced in selecting finishes, light fittings, furniture and soft furnishings which ultimately bring the designs to life.

I work on projects ranging from decorative make-overs of individual rooms to complex renovations of entire properties. Current and former clients include an established residential property developer, private residential clients, independent restaurants and food outlets, an artisan Food & Beverage retailer and American fashion brand REESE COOPER® at Harrods and Selfridges & Co.

Services:
  • Turnkey project delivery including the design and project management for the refurbishment (including internal structural and M&E alterations) of entire properties or individual living rooms, cinema rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, bespoke joinery and furniture design.
  • Freelance commercial contracting for designing and project managing shell and core fit outs and refurbishments of restaurants, bars and retail shop fitting.
  • Sourcing and supply of FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment).
  • Lighting and electrical design.
  • Project management (without design input) and planning applications.

Project Process:

Step 1: Initial Meeting & Appointment of the Designer
I meet with a prospective client to discuss their project, wishes and budget & set out an initial brief. This meeting usually takes 1-2hrs & is free of charge. I then submit a fee proposal & I look forward to being appointed.

Step 2: Site Survey
A site survey and accurate floor plans form the basis of any interior design project regardless of whether an individual room or an entire house is being designed. I always complete a site survey to take measurements & review the existing internal layouts, lighting, finishes as well as loose furniture in order to define a scope of works.

Step 3: Design Concepts, Technical Drawings, Tendering, Costings & Planning Applications
A concept design proposal is then put together with initial layouts & electronic mood boards. Once the concept is agreed, the Design Pack is developed with accurate costings, detailed technical drawings for tender, schedules of works & the submission of planning applications if required.

Step 4: Product Sourcing & Procurement
I have built up a vast library of suppliers over the years & benefit from fantastic trade discounts from many of them. When ordering from those suppliers, I always pass on the full discount to my clients less an agreed Procurement / Project Management Fee.

Step 5: Client Meetings
Several presentation meetings take place so that the designs can be agreed.

Step 6: Budget Control
All costs are itemised on a Budget spread sheet & are sent to the client for approval prior to purchasing. Updated finance reports are sent to the client on a regular basis.

Step 7: Onsite Works
Following all the planning and preparations, the onsite works begin and I call on my extensive network of trusted contractors, craftsmen, furniture & soft furnishing makers and professionals including structural engineer, M&E consultants, HVAC specialists to realise the designs.

Step 8: Project Management
The key to a successful project is focused project management. With a solid background in project management I am able to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Step 9: Site Visits & Installations
With my in-depth knowledge and understanding of every aspect of each design & frequent onsite presence I ensure that contractors implement the design accurately and I am able to problem solve any issues that may arise onsite.

Step 10: Snagging & Handover
Once inspections have been made and any snagging issues resolved, I issue my clients with a handover pack that includes all relevant certificates & maintenance practices.
